my country doesn't have a lot a people in the game so I'll go with 3 songs at once.

I'll be honest i'm a classic 60'-90' metal fan but to honor my ping mate and all of my other middle eastern friends here, I have picked some oldies I love and are amazing and a new one(kinda). here's my picks:

1. Shoshana Damari  - Kalaniot (Red poppies)

Shoshana came from Yemen with all the jews at that time. she had an amazing voice that reached the world.
in this version the song she sang was with a whole orchestra behind her.

2. Zohar Argov - Badad (Alone)

Zohar was a famous singer in the 70', singing "middle eastern music" as we call it here, that got the local touch with the basics of the area the jews came from to israel. His story is a classic of came from the gutter, hit huge success and ruined his life with drugs and violence.

still his songs are cherished as they combine middle eastern instruments, electric guitars and more along with his voice that made people cry.

3. Orphaned land - Nora El Nora
luckily I can place some metal here is well.

these guys(pernsonal note - know them personally when I was managing metal bars in TLV) made an amazing fusion of metal, middle eastern instruments and hebrew religious lyrics. they themselves are not that religious btw.
