Besides the foundation of the state, August 20th has become a symbol of Christian Hungarian statehood, as King Stephen was the first Hungarian ruler to be canonized.

In the Middle Ages, August 20th was Saint Stephen's Day, celebrating the relics of the king. Over time, the holiday expanded, and in the modern era, it also became the celebration of the new bread, marking the end of the harvest. The new bread symbolically connects the nation to its agricultural traditions.

It symbolizes the unity of the country, its independence, and the preservation of Christian values. On this day, celebrations take place across the country, including military parades, fireworks, and religious ceremonies, expressing national unity.

Augusztus 20. Magyarország egyik legfontosabb nemzeti ünnepe, amely az államalapítás és Szent István király emlékét őrzi. Ezen a napon ünnepeljük a magyar állam megalapítását, amely 1000 körül, István király koronázásával kezdődött. István király, a magyar történelem egyik legjelentősebb alakja, bevezette a kereszténységet és megszilárdította az ország helyét Európában. Az államalapítás mellett augusztus 20-a a keresztény magyar államiság szimbólumává is vált, hiszen István király az első magyar szentté avatott uralkodó.
